Philippines is Emerging as the Top Choice for Outsourcing
The Philippines is now the emerging top choice for Outsourcing. This is based on an article from the Philippine Daily Inquirer dated March 8, 2008. The Philippines outsourcing industry is now increasing at a higher pace than its major competitor which is India. The projected increase is 23.4% as compared to India which is only 10%, Malaysia by 17%, Thailand by 15%, and Singapore by 8%.
This is a good development for the Philippine Outsourcing Industry. As we continue to take a bigger part in the market share for outsourcing, it would mean more jobs and recognition of the quality of work by filipino professionals.
The report was based on the Asian Contact Center Benchmarking Report. “We noted that there is a shift to the Philippines from India as the top-of-mind choice for outsourced services, especially in customer-related work,” according to Catriona Wallace, president of Callcenter.net. The study was sponsored by United Kingdom-based Autonomy etalk and Alcaltel-Lucent unit Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories.
